The Form of Power

In the rapidly evolving society, femininity is transforming into a more diverse concept. This garment goes beyond a deeper exploration of beauty, boldly challenging traditional gender norms. On a larger scale, it embodies an inclusive, diverse value system for female identity, promoting a broader societal understanding of complex female identities and encouraging women to define beauty on their own terms. Additionally, it uses recycled leather and environmentally friendly velvet, with plans to develop biodegradable tulle, balancing design expression with environmental responsibility.

Gordafarid

The dress is a bridge between history and modernity, reusing damaged and unusable handicrafts (Iranian carpets) and introducing them into the fashion industry without changing the original structure of the work, as well as the headband, which is a combination of Iranian geometry and modern origami technique. The items have multiple uses: A springy and soft shawl that the user can give different forms to their body, a carpet that can be worn or hung on the wall, or placed on the floor as a work of art.

Traditional Parure

This project revises a traditional Russian jewelry set by combining sustainable technologies with traditional craft techniques. The Russian Traditional Parure features three key elements: a Celebration Tiara, a faux amber neckpiece, and an Ojerelok neckpiece. Ekaterina researched jewelry from the Russian North to revive its crafts and history, incorporating new sustainable methods like creating faux amber from recycled glass. Additionally, she expanded design possibilities and developed a unique method for applying the cloisonne goldsmithing technique directly onto recycled glass.

The Zalea jacket stands as a unique wearable art piece, crafted from upcycled fabric scarves and discarded textiles. Each fabric scrap is carefully chosen and hand-sewn, forming layered textures that embody sustainable creativity. With its oversized silhouette and cascading fabric strips, the jacket adopts a sculptural quality that merges fashion with environmental consciousness. Designed to challenge mass production, the Zalea jacket invites wearers to embrace individuality and craftsmanship while honoring the beauty of reused materials.

See Our Moonlight Revels reimagines Titania from A Midsummer Night’s Dream as a 1920's flapper, blending Shakespearean elegance with modern womanhood. Flappers symbolized women's liberation, aligning with Titania's assertive nature. In the 20s, pants were rare for women, worn mostly by revolutionaries. To reflect this, a pair of palazzo pants that appear as a skirt when still but reveal their form in motions highlights her duality and evolving role. A imagination of who she was and could be today proves assertiveness enhance allure, as love and gentleness are not weakness.

The design honors the timeless elegance of the Changshan, a revered traditional Chinese menswear garment. Evoking its refined silhouette, this reinterpretation seamlessly blends heritage with innovation. Vertical seams and discreetly integrated pockets enhance functionality while maintaining modesty. Crafted from high twist wool twill, it offers structural support and a wrinkle free appearance. Through meticulous tailoring methods, the challenge of reimagining the neckline is overcome while ensuring both smooth curves and structural integrity.
